FOR AN UPDATE.

The Middlesex Memoir Writers Group recently celebrated the five-year anniversary of the inception of their group. The members prepare original pieces of writing that are shared at the monthly meetings.

The group was formed after the Friends offered a public program whose inspiring speaker shared tips for how to get started on writing a memoir. The members have been meeting monthly ever since.

Even a global pandemic did not thwart their resolve to continue meeting. During the worst of the pandemic, the women resorted to alternative ways to gather—sometimes on Zoom, and other times by meeting outdoors. The intrepid women bundled up and took their masks and lawn chairs to the park and sometimes to the parking lot of the library to conduct their meetings.

Over the years, many wonderful stories and accounts have been documented and presented, resulting in a resolve to keep the group going for many more years to come.
