We're still not hosting live programs due to the pandemic, but we do have two virtual programs this spring which will be held on Zoom.


There's no charge, you don't have to leave your home,

Acclaimed International Concert Violinist Dr. David Podles will showcase and perform music of French classical composers and French waltzes, as well as French movie music and instrumental versions of the "chanson" style that is incredibly definitive of French music culture such as works by Edith Piaf and Charles Aznavour. You'll be brought on an enchanting musical journey through the cafes in Paris as well as the inviting French countryside.

After settling down in the USA from the former Soviet Union, Elly continued his career on the NYC music scene. He brought his rich talent on vocals and brilliant sounds on sax to audiences across the country. A dynamic talent, Elly can switch seamlessly from exciting vocals to smooth sounds on sax. He will showcase Latin tunes, Jazz standards, Pop music from 40s-70s & International hits, switching between singing and performing on sax.

Friends of the Middlesex Library Registration Policy


On occasion, advance registration for an event is necessary. For an event that requires advance registration, please note the following:


Registration will not be open until one month prior to the scheduled event. You may stop in or call the library to register, but be aware that you may only register yourself and one other person.


Once an event is full, your name will be put on a waiting list. We will contact you should a space open up.


If you find you cannot make the event, please give us the courtesy of a cancellation call as soon as possible. There may be others on the waiting list who would like to attend in your place.

An Adult Book Discussion Group meets at the library the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00 P.M. For further information about the book group, call Beverly Weber at 732-356-3536.

Please note: During the pandemic we are not accepting book donations.


The Friends of the Middlesex Library welcomes donations of books, CDs, and DVDs. Most donations are sold by the Friends in the lobby of the Library. The money raised helps fund Friends’ educational and musical programs. On occasion, donations are used to augment the Library's collections. The Friends and the Library are grateful for the generosity of individuals wishing to donate materials.


Please note the following guidelines pertaining to donations:


1. The Library reserves the right to use donations for the Friends of the Library Book Sales or the Library collection. If the material is determined to be inappropriate for either, the Library reserves the right to discard it.


2. The evaluation and disposition of gift materials is the responsibility of the Library staff and authorized by the Library Director.


3. Donations must be in acceptable physical condition. We cannot accept: a. Encyclopedias b. Textbooks c. Reader’s Digest Condensed Books d. Cassette tapes, LPs, 8-track tapes, or VCR tapes e. Items that are mildewed, moldy, or damp f. Books that have been written in, highlighted, underlined, or have yellowed/stained pages, or broken spines.


4. Donations of local historical materials are encouraged.


5. Receipts given to donors by the Library are limited to general acknowledgment that a gift was received. Assignment of value for income tax or other purposes is the responsibility of the donor. The Library does not appraise materials nor endorse appraisals provided by donors.


6. The donor is responsible for delivering all donations to the circulation desk of the Library. Library staff cannot provide assistance in bringing donations into the Library.


7. Monetary donations are always gratefully accepted.
